Action Items

Summer 2026, January 2027, and May 2027 degree candidates/graduates, are invited to the May 2027 Commencement Weekend.

Currently, Summer degree candidate processes are taking place. If you are an August 2, 2026, degree candidate, please visit the Summer graduation web page.

Action Items for before or soon after Graduation

Move Your Files Before They Are Deleted

Approximately 60 days after graduation, your NetID will be deactivated.

Move valuable files before they are deleted. Any content you created as a student will be deleted in July unless you move it to a personal account. Also transfer any important research, projects, etc., to a Google Shared drive or Box Group account to ensure others continue to have access to them. Important action items include:

  • Relocate any Google and Box files to a personal account
  • Request an Alumni Gmail account through the Notre Dame Alumni Association
  • Change your student NetID to a personal email address for bank, social media, Paypal, Venmo, Apple ID, etc.
  • Remove Notre Dame licensed software from your computer (Office 360, Adobe, etc.)

Request an Alumni Gmail Account through the Alumni Association

The Notre Dame Alumni Association is pleased to offer alumni Gmail accounts for our graduates. If you would like a Notre Dame affiliated email address after graduation, and have not already requested one, please complete the following form.

  • Your new alumni email address will be @alumni.nd.edu
  • Alumni Gmail includes Gmail and Calendar only

Order a Copy of Your Student Transcripts

Who knows where life will take you next—be prepared! Order a copy of your student transcripts via insideND. As May is a busy time of the year for transcript requests, please allow a few weeks after grades are posted for processing. After your netID has expired, you may order transcripts through my.nd.edu.
