Ceremony Guest Tickets

University Commencement Ceremony

Guest tickets are required for the Sunday 10:00 a.m. University Commencement Ceremony at Notre Dame Stadium. Guest tickets are unlimited but must be requested by the student through the Graduation Application. Cap and gown are required.

Closed circuit live broadcast of the ceremony will be available in DeBartolo Hall for those guests who would prefer not to sit outside in the Notre Dame Stadium.

Students may make adjustments at ticket distribution.  Specific University Commencement Ceremony instructions will be handed out at ticket distribution.  All undergraduate students will need to complete their Senior Surveys from Institutional Research, prior to ticket pick-up.  We encourage you to check your email regularly and respond as requested.

Commencement tickets are scheduled to be distributed (to students only with a valid I.D.) at the Duncan Student Center, Room W106, enter doors 13 or 14,on:

  • Wednesday, May 16 (1:00pm-5:00pm) - Duncan Student Center
  • Thursday, May 17 (10:00am-7:00pm) - Duncan Student Center
  • Friday, May 18 (10:00am-5:00pm) - Duncan Student Center
  • Saturday, May 19 (8:00 a.m. - 2:30 p.m.) - 300 Grace Hall
  • Sunday, May 20 -  Gates A & B of the Stadium beginning at 7:45 a.m.

For graduates unable to pick up tickets Wednesday, Thursday, or Friday, an additional ticket distribution time will be held at 300 Grace Hall (Office of the Registrar) on Saturday, May 19 from 8:00 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. If you will not be on campus to pick-up your guest tickets by this time, please inform us at (574-631-7043) or commencement@nd.edu so that we can make arrangements for you to obtain your tickets over the weekend.

Diploma Ceremonies

Tickets are not required and the number of guests is unlimited for the diploma ceremonies.  However, an RSVP is requested through the student Graduation Application. Cap and gown is required.

Students will receive their diplomas during their respective separate college/department/school ceremonies. Undergraduate ceremonies are scheduled for Sunday at 2:00 p.m., May 20, after the University Commencement Ceremony. Graduate and Professional students (Law, Graduate Business, Graduate School) will receive their diplomas during their Saturday ceremonies on May 19. Students will receive additional information from their college, school, or department regarding their respective ceremonies.

Commencement Mass

Tickets are not required for the Commencement Mass on Saturday, May 19 in the Joyce Center – Purcell Pavilion.  However, an RSVP is requested through the student Graduation Application. Cap and gown is required.
